This dreary childhood led to your risk-taking behavior, your crippling methamphetamine addiction, your series of increasingly broken and dysfunctional relationships, yada yada, Freud would have a field day. I get it. I understand. I know you were beaten on the ears whenever you misbehaved as a youth. I know. I understand. But you need to stop living in the past! You need to move on, start growing, and stop being shackled by your complete aversion to anything that lacks the energy of a cocaine-fueled glam metal guitarist high on a combination of kerosene and dioxygen difluoride and the volume of a Saturn V. Please. I want nothing more than for you to progress and grow as a person, and it starts with appreciating music at a tempo lower than nightcore.

Short music box is short music box. Evo version is chunkier. But for a nothing track, I don't know that it's really fair to even rate these and try to contrast.

I actually like the original version of this quite a bit. It's very simple and short, but I happen to like music boxes and the little touch of hearing it being wound at the start of the track is surprisingly touching... but it's way too short. Extend the song to a full minute so I can properly experience it in full and it might be a winner, but there's just not enough here to get a truly great score. The original version feels crisper and cleaner than the Evo, which gives it a fair edge.

The Evo version is fascinating to me in ways I cannot explain, but I've listened to it three times in a row because I do not want the song to end and it's amazing & great. I have nothing to say about the original version.

They're fine. [Final Thoughts: Well, the Evo version is slightly less than fine. I want to like it, particularly because it's got a saxophone and all, but it's just...wrong. Too busy to be a relaxing town theme, not interesting enough to be more than town theme, and so notably worse than the original to not even be a good remix. I don't hate it, but for something that seems like something I'd like, they certainly dropped the ball.]

Sad uhhhh "new agey" (?) music. Evo has an added echo effect that makes it sound less sad, but more new agey. Subtle differences that give it a small change in tone, even if they aren't all that different.

i thought i liked the original more at first (instrumentation is more immediately appealing; the piano solo sounds nicer for some reason, and played on a less distorted sound), but after listening to both back and forth for nearly an hour, I've decided the evo version captivates me more. the more 'complex' synth pad sound design in the evo version, and some subtle extra layers of harmony added in, really make it feel more expansive, surrounding, ethereal.

This is a niche of VGM I've never really cared for--when it's just vaguely tense music that plays in between two intense scenes. It's just supposed to maintain the player's already existing excitement but that means the song doesn't really contribute anything on its own. Though, the keyboard(?) part here at 0:45 is pretty neat and probably raises the score by a full point. ...okay so all that only applies to the original version because the Evo version is actually pretty cool. Not 100% sure why--I would guess the larger variety in instrumentation and the greater subtlety in dynamics, but the atmosphere of the Evo version is much more engaging.

This song is way too fucking catchy. The Evo version is not quite as catchbut also has the usual pretty Ao Evo violin.
