Saw Evil -- a CBS show -- listed as trending on NF and, since it's October, figured I'd give it a try even though it didn't look promising... and imagine my surprise to see that it's a who's who of people I know from other shit. The deuteragonist is Luke Cage, Asif Mondi plays a sidekick, and even Kurt Fuller -- one of the bigger "Hey, it's THAT guy!"s -- is in it (among other things, he's been in Psych and Supernatural, and had Walter Peck's role in Ghostbusters 2).

The show itself so far looks to prove the expression "Sometimes you can judge a book by its cover" since, other than the woman having a ton of young daughters, everything has been kinda as-expected. Granted, something like this can take a while to get great. (And it clearly feels like they're going for the X-Files formula of a female scientific skeptic a male believer, although the scope will probably be narrower. Oh, and Mike Colter's performance as Acosta feels a lot like Rosewood in terms of mannerisms.)

That's the Superman scenario, though. Where super-genius Lex Luthor literally cannot process the idea that Clark Kent is Superman, no matter how blatantly obvious the evidence is or how people outright tell him, because that would imply that Superman spends at least some of his time NOT being Superman.

And if you were Superman, why would you ever stop being Superman?

That's specific to Lex Luthor, not society at larger. Plus there are countless people who *could* secretly be Superman in just Metropolis alone, whereas Eternia doesn't seem to have that many citizens.

Otherwise Superman still has his powers while he's in civilian identity, He-Man doesn't.

Because he was terrible.

To bring this around and quote Lex Luthor: "WRRRRRRROOOOOOOONNGG!!"
