Friday the 13th Part 7: The New Blood (1988)

What is the one thing you always thought Friday the 13th was missing? You know, the one thing that could take this tremendous series into the stratosphere and push it beyond the bounds of what we all thought possible? Thats right, its a goddamned telekinetic protagonist to go toe to toe with the now undead Frankenstein zombie Jason.

The studio officially does not give a shit anymore, and that is exactly what this series needed. The acting reaches new lows, the writing is more or less incomprehensible, and shit in this movie happens for pretty much no goddamned reason. They've stuck with the working formula of well paced kills that get more and more frequent as the movie goes on, which is good. It works.

Also: fuckin Kane Hodder. the man is a legend, and he got some rather serious burn scars during the filming of this movie.

The best kill was easily when Dr. Crews got weedwhackered in the gut. I always love it when jason manages to work in some new and exciting form of gardening equipment.

I counted 16 kills, continuing the gradual decline that started in the last movie.

I rate this one 2/5
