im not doing spoiler warnings anymore. i put one up on the first review, if you skip it, thats on you.

Definately not as good as the first. Its almost like Rob Zombie heard people bitching about how meyers is supposed to be sort of supernatural and so he made this sort of spiritual connection between him and his sister and their dead mom that was just dumb. it felt so goddamned shoehorned in there that it just killed anything that i thought the first movie did right.

The pacing felt way slower, but i suppose it did still have that same Rob Zombie depiction of violence that the first did, which i guess gives it something. I will say that the scene where Annie's father finds her body always fucks me up. Putting myself in his situation where the same beast of a person got a hold of his daughter twice, and finished the job the second time really gets to me.

i counted 19 kills... so just slightly less than the first which feels like a ripoff. sequels should always have bigger body counts.
