Are the test strips, lance things, and the machine prescriptions? Or can I just go buy them without a prescription? I ask because the doc prescribed a specific brand (OneTouch), and I want to Google which ones the best and just buy the best one instead.
You can find test strips, lancets, and insulin pen needles on Amazon. Just make sure they are the right size and work with the One Touch kit. I found a few on there and ordered some and they work just fine when I ran out of the accessories that came with the insulin pens and test kit. Insulin can be somewhat pricey but last you atleast almost a month. I pay about $95 for my long-lasting insulin pens. Metformin for me effected my eye sight at first..but after like 3 or 4 weeks, your body adjusts to it. I use Glucerna shakes to help between meals or as a meal if I'm in a rush for work. Definitely do not skip a meal if you can avoid it. You will feel a change in your body, like pains..nerve pains in toes and fingers. There are over the counter medications you can take for that. Wear comfortable shoes if at all possible. When I got diagnosed with Type 2 in June...I had no idea I had diabetes. I was just peeing alot and thirsty as fuck all the time. So I drank alot of sugary drinks..like gallons in a matter of days. Went to a doctor thinking I had a kidney or bladder issue...nope,I got diabetes and was rushed into the hospital that day and there for 5 days til my sugar levels came down from the 800s to a low 100s.
