It often boils down to

"Trump is creating peace in the middle east" therefore he doing God's work.

But it disregards the fact that the dispute is between Isreal and Palestine and none of the "peace agreements" involve Palestine!

That would be like if you have 2 children who both claim that a basketball belongs to them. And rather than make an agreement between those 2 children about who owns the basketball, you get a THIRD child from down to block to agree with one of the first two.

And somehow that's a peaceful resolution.

.

It's willful ignorance to an absurd degree.

It's the same thing with abortion.

I personally think there should be as FEW abortions as possible. As a result I think we should fund programs like planned parenthood that will help reduce the likelihood of unplanned pregnancy. And I believe we should support sexual education programs that will provide teenagers with the information that they need that will reduce the likelihood of unplanned pregnancy.

The legality of abortion isn't the only factor here. People would still GET abortions if they had an unplanned pregnancy. But the lack of pragmatism by Christians always astounds me. They would rather take the lofty approach of outlawing abortion without recognizing the contributing factors that could be considered to tangibly reduce the need for abortions.
