As a service, Gamepass is meant to be an incentive for people to choose a system. It's on Xbox to make Xbox more attractive, and it's on PC's to make Windows 10 more attractive (less necessary now that prior versions of Windows are no longer supported), but Microsoft really doesn't benefit from making the Switch more attractive. Most of Microsoft's support of Nintendo has boiled down to making life harder for Sony, rather than helping Nintendo compete with the Xbox.
