As a citizen, and veteran, who understands true patriotism =/= flag worship, and the fundamental rights we are afforded, no.

Never understood the morons who say shit like "these soldiers fought and died for us so you better respect the flag/stand for the anthem" etc etc.

gtfo you ignorant clods. We serve in part to preserve our rights, which includes free speech and the right to peaceful protest. Kneeling for the anthem and burning a flag in protest is perfectly fine. I wouldn't do it, but I understand why some would and respect their right to do it.

Another point - the flag is not intended to be used as a fucking decoration that you plaster on hats and t-shirts and bumper stickers. Talk about disrespecting the flag? Look up the regulations for displaying the flag. A lot of that shit is technically illegal, though rarely, if ever, prosecuted.
