Meanwhile, Pelosi had offered to drop her aid demand to $2.4 trillion and the White House signaled a willingness to accept $1.3 trillion. This is very telling. When there was no deal, the Democrats moved their offer down to compromise, and Mitch....also moved his offer down, to maximize the gains he can get from this negotiation.
