Its interesting you mention this because Ive found many of my favorite songs tend to be ones I thought were just okay or even disliked at first, which took a few listens to click with me. Whereas if I like a song a lot the first time I hear it, I often tend to get bored of it quickly.

Oh, definitely. Ive mentioned it before, but it took me a while to appreciate The Protomen - Act 2. It was so different than I expected that I actively disliked most of the songs. It eventually became one of my favorite albums (well... not that I like many in the first place), but it took a while before I really got it.

(Not that it was the most complex album, but you know what I mean)

Something to think about: putting the music on shuffle when doing your ratings. Hearing a bunch of songs in a row with similar style might change your mood long term (relatively speaking), which might affect your ratings.

At a smaller ranking topic, I would. The previous ones had an extra step:

1.Listen (mostly) in posted order.
2.Listen in random order.
3.Listen from lowest ranked to highest
4.Start topic

But as were going from 300 songs to over 500, Ive eliminated step 2 for being the least important. I dont think a list of this size could ever get done with all the extra hours that would take, but cutting it makes it feel manageable.
