God bless living in America, the greatest country in the world.

So I've got a swelling in my abdomen, left side just below ribs. Palpitating it is mildly painful and it feels hard as a rock. Been like this for two days. Google search isn't worth much but symptoms suggest it might be my spleen. It might recover on its own or it might burst.

Unfortunately, I do not have health insurance. Can't afford private insurance and I work for a company small enough they are not required to offer employee healthcare. If this is on the bad end of things then I might be looking at an ER trip and surgery real soon, and if I want to go in and get an ultrasound or any scans I'll have to pay for them out of pocket. Ultrasound runs $550 on average in the US, abdomen CT scan runs $1900 and those are *just* the scans, not everything else the hospital charges associated with them (like having a doctor actually read them). If I do that and it turns out to be nothing then I've taken on thousands or even tens of thousands of dollars in medical debt I have no easy way of paying back. If I pray that is nothing and then my spleen bursts I could die, and even if I survive I'll literally be drowning in medical debt.
