It is solely meant to silence any thoughts/expressions/voices which do not agree with the complainer. People are allowed to debate, have different views, and yes... even be racist to others. That is what Freedom of Speech protects. Freedom of Speech also protects someone alerting a business to the racist behavior of one of their employees. Not that the American concept of free speech was even relevant to begin with, since I assume the TC is Australian. Also he's completely wrong about what free speech is.
