Saddest thing ever for me, was a family get together back east when I was a kid. Mind you I could eat a horse at that time, and I didn't get steak that much yet as I was just sparatically working.
Anyway I went to visit my grandfather and we went to this family gathering nearby (very rich area, everyone had mansions). They had a huge amount of filet mignon......my eyes, mouth and soul were all drooling.
But, it was raw, just charred a bit on the outside, but completely uncooked inside at all. I tried eating it but it just wasn't cooked enough. All that steak, right there, and I couldn't eat any. That was seriously insane torture. It was the only meat as well, there were veggies etc, but just that for meat.
It's been well over 40 years, and I still remember that lol. I don't remember any of the schools I went to, the names of my last roomates from a year ago, my last phone number etc, but I remember that.
I mean if the temperature in the center of the steak is hot, I would probably be alright with it, but if it's raw in both look and temperature, it's hard to imagine how that is considered appetizing.
