Sort of. The point is you can't just shut down society forever on the hope that a magical vaccine will come in and save everyone.

You need to get the infection rates down massively, then prevent further outbreaks with huge testing programs and tracing contacts of people that are infected.

If you just shut down for years the economic costs are too huge and then companies might as well relocate to countries that have already beaten this. Taiwan, Korea, China to name a few.
Who has said shutdown for years? Please point them to me, they must exist since you made this silly topic, so please point them out.

What people want is for the virus to get under control and then open shit up, you know, like a bunch of countries have done. That takes 6 to 8 weeks if you do your job. Is two months now considered years?

Did you think you made some excellent point with this topic? Sorry to tell you, you didn't. You made up a foe with a fake argument that you won. Look at Europe, that is what people want. Are they locked down for years? No, they did their job and they are open. Hell look at New York, they did their job and now they are open. New York, a state with New York City, is pretty much entirely open with INFECTIONS GOING DOWN. A month ago they had 100,000 active cases, there is a very good chance 24 hours from now they will be under 80,000 active cases.

No one sane said years. You said years so you can win a fake argument.
