Severe doesn't mean "literally dying where you stand to a level where you can't call an ambulance."

When a covid case is classified as "severe" by official bodies, this is in fact what's happening, because they have to be on a ventilator. Now I am not too familiar with bad disease progression, but even "mild" cases are walking pneumonia and have been recounted as "feel like the person is dying".

"mild" is kind of a bad label because it can be anything from little to no symptoms or "technically not going to hospitalize even though you have fever and feel like death because you don't check this list of symptom boxes"
