Most people have really bad home theater setups Because it's the premium for not having to wait. And just like there are perks to a theater, there are also perks to being at home. Comfier seating, not having to put up with lines or a bunch of other people, being able to pause, and so on. The reason movies are cheaper when they end up on demand later on isn't completely because it's at home vs. a theater, it's because you've had to wait longer to see it and they're also trying to rope people into watching it again. $30 is a little much, but it's not outrageous.
