In general, intelligence stereotypes tend to wrongly associate proficiency in one area with proficiency in others -- ie, because they're smart or knowledgeable in one regard, it's going to be true in other regards. It's generally fallacious thinking (although there can be transferable skills and outsiders can sometimes bring a unique perspective to a field) And, of course, real-world expertise can sometimes be the real-world equivalent of min-maxing where individuals will study certain subjects to the exclusion of other things Yellow posted... Elon Musk's single skill is being a half decent programmer with billions of dollars. He's intelligent besides that, though, especially since his companies are built on more than just his programming.
