Missed an earlier post >_>

But my point is more that I have yet to see a single commercial for the game that tells you anything meaningful about it.

Kind of a weird learning metric. Because I ad-block, I can't recall the last time I saw a game commercial period.

(Tangentially, though, I will say I didn't really appreciate Ladyhawk, Dragonslayer, or Legend at the time either, so maybe I just had a certain antipathy towards certain types of fantasy. It's hard to really parse out when I'm looking backwards from 30+ years later and trying to remember how I felt about stuff, and why.)

Seriously? Not even with Tim Curry as the Lord of Darkness?!

You at least liked Willow, right? Tell me you liked Willow. Because if I also hear you didn't like Willow, I'm going to lose my freaking mind over here.

To be fair, they actually kind of address that in-game. The explosion at the end of the game puts you in a coma, and you required reconstructive surgery to fix everything, which justifies why you might look different than you did in SR1. Which includes gender (which seems more fluid in the Saints Row universe at the best of times).

Honestly, it seems like something of an oversight in the first place although I suppose they were working on a much tighter budget with the first game.

ParanoidObsessive posted... Weellll. If we're going to be honest, Eliza Dushku's career was ever all that (what's the opposite of "faded"? Bright?) in the first place.

Only with the benefit of hindsight. At the time, she seemed poised to be big.

But she was recording her lines for SR2 right between Tru Calling and Dollhouse

I loved Tru Calling -- although it was admittedly shit -- whereas my brother was a Dollhouse fan. It's a shame that nothing she was involved with (other than Buffy obviously, but even then she in a more supporting role) seemed to last.

And interestingly enough, both Tru Calling and Dollhouse were 26 episodes long although the episode count per season was different.

Oh, plus I just realized she played Rubi in WET. How did I not realize that? >_> I loved WET, although it was a clunky, kinda-bad game.

The real impressive thing was that NPH was willing to come BACK to voice lines for SR4 (though Eliza Dushku either wouldn't or wasn't even asked), after his personal stock had increased.

That's what makes him a nerd saint. Of course, in Dushku's case, they didn't even keep her in SR3.... and now I'm curious which side decided that, since it would probably give a reason for her not being back in SR4 as well.
