This is Judas directly pleading with both those around him and, more importantly, the audience that he not be proven wrong and damned as the man who betrayed the lord. While his motives are questionable (he insists that he doesn't care about the money and isn't doing it for his own benefit) but you find yourself really believing him because of the powerful performance Carl Anderson gives. The delivery of the title line is really the most powerful takeaway here; the way he belts out the "JUST DON'T.
