I still have to carry her in a car, so i'd rather she freak out inside the carrier than the car that could kill us both.
A deep, vented, bin with a well-padded bottom (paper, cloth, etc.) and a snap-top lid, should work *better* than a kitty-carrier for transporting a feral or stray adult cat.

[ Someone I know used a kitty carrier to move with their rescued cat. It was so stressed it died of a heart-attack. ] :(

You might only get one chance to get her in the bin with the lid on. If you're doing it alone, don't rush; trust is key.
