So you overpay later for the bargain somewhere else. Ultimately here, the contract will be judged on if it nets more than 0 World Series victories. Mookie is great in pretty much every aspect. He's a super nice guy, thoughtful, plays well with others, and he's about as good on the field as it gets. If you're gonna give someone a big contract, Mookie is definitely the guy.
