I tried supplemental food pastes and such and switching his food around but after a few months it got to the point where he was too thin and lethargic and I brought him to the ICU. Turns out he was going through liver failure, which is apparently common for older cats. We had to put him down after a couple of days of treatment had no impact on his vitals. It was really devastating. I hope your boy bounces back.
