Seriously, be happy you have family, and even more, family you can stand enough to live with. If anyone gives you shit about it, screw them.

Most places it's extremely expensive to rent your own place now, so your choice is living with strangers (roomates), friends (if your lucky), or relatives.

You can hopefully trust your parents to not screw you over, so living with them seems like a good choice if it's an option.

For the bonus question I rent, well it's not a basement anymore, basically just a room with my own bathroom (used to have 2 rooms down here but they are using the other as storage since I wasn't using it). I didn't ask to pay less rent though. I'm paying $575, which is really too much for what I'm getting, but I'm not motivated enough to move during the pandemic. By the time this is over, it'll be winter again (to dark, to hard for me to move in winter here), which means i'm stuck here till next spring/summer at the earliest.

I WISH I was living with relatives (I do have a few uncles still alive), never knew my dad (he took off when I was 2 and even though I tried I could never find him), and my mom (who was never a mother to me) is dead, along with my brother.

My friends are all in either CA where I lived most of my life (but it's way to expensive to live there now), or Olympia which is too far for me to drive, so I'm basically all alone, in a basement for another 8 months or so I guess.
