There's little doubt in my mind that if Trayvon had pulled a gun -- and I'm not suggesting shooting unless Zimmerman either went for his weapon or attacked -- instead of physically assaulting and bloodying Zimmerman, he would be alive today. Conversely, Trayvon had already gotten to safety and could have just called the cops on Zimmerman instead of going back to confront him.

He brandished his gun because he was being threatened, because his life mattered. And keep in mind that the only minority in that confrontation was the guy with the gun. The white protestor who took it upon himself to start following and threatening him because he didn't like the fact that the shooter had the audacity to disagree with BLM (and maybe the white protestor's actions were motivated by racism, because he claims he was going to file a police report when the guy hadn't done illegal at that point -- especially keeping in mind he was supposedly representing a movement that complains about white people calling cops on minorities over nothing and the possibility of those confrontations ending badly so, in his mind, that was a reality and therefore suggests a highly malicious intent on his part in light of his beliefs)
