There would be a massive political backlash if they tried billing people who were too scared to work. It won't happen. Especially not with the gigantic mismanagement of billions of taxpayer dollars, going to all sorts of wealthy people who will never even get a scolding.
This is not true. People have already started getting overpayment notices even though the state's DOL fucked up. In NY, a bunch of people called in and their benefits were increased to the max $504 about a month ago. Now they're getting letters saying the DOL overpaid so they won't be getting payments unless it's paid off.

It's not fraud and there's no reason to have a melty over it. Workers not wanting to die for shit pay aren't going to be penalized for drawing from a stimulus that was designed to keep them at home. The resources needed to audit hundreds of thousands of cases and prove that there was intent to abuse the system, not to mention the political backlash behind it, it will never happen.
Dude, why are you giving false hope? The government always gets their shit. They can take their time too.
