Florida has a stronger case since they at least went blue for Carter. But that's what 4 blue to 10 or 11 red. Michigan in the same period was blue 7 times. Looking at the states in the 60s, 70s, and even the 80s when only Minnesota was never a red state is a terrible metric. Florida has been the ultimate swing state since 2000 (or really since the Clinton era).
