He can think Reagan was a great president without agreeing with all of his policies. I would say his statements that are consistent with the trickle down theory are vanishingly rare and his statements that are inconsistent with it are too numerous to count. He constantly talks as if the government, and specifically, the President, is responsible for economic growth or decline.
