I guess I can run through the list of what is available right now to give you an idea of whether you really 'need' something from the reroll pull.

The following are unlockable instantly via playing 1 stage of the characters story (I.e. virtually instantly)

Alice - Breaker
Snow White - Breaker
Red Riding Hood - Crusher
Cinderella - Gunner
Pinocchio - Crusher
Gretel - Breaker
Sleeping Beauty - Crusher
Kaguya - Paladin

The following are unlockable via Story / Login Rewards / Events / F2P shop currency / Missions

Alice - Paladin (This is the furthest job unlock available in story right now though)
Alice - Mage (Beginner missions. Takes a minimum of 4 days to get due to time restricted events)
Snow White - Cleric
Red Riding Hood - Sorcerer
Cinderella - Sorcerer
Pinocchio - Paladin (Will take a while if you save crystals for Nier though)
Sleeping Beauty - Sorcerer
Sleeping Beauty - Gunner
Kaguya - Sorcerer

The following are unlockable via Gacha only (or buying via pity Gacha coins - 4500 crystals total)

Alice - Cleric*
Cinderella - Breaker*
Pinocchio - Mage*
Gretel - Minstrel*
Kaguya - Cleric*
Snow White - Crusher
Little Mermaid - Breaker

*Available on initial rerollable pull

As for what the jobs do. Each job is basically separated into Vanguard / Rearguard.

Vanguard jobs can use Swords, Spears, Hammers, Bows
Rearguard jobs can use Books, Staffs, Orbs, Instruments

You will use 20 weapons at any given time so for the most part you will be using a mix of weapons. Each job gets a bonus type for a certain weapon type.

Vanguard Jobs

Breaker - Sword Bonus
Crusher - Hammer Bonus
Gunner - Bows Bonus
Paladin - Spear Bonus

Rearguard Jobs

Cleric - Staff Bonus
Mage - Orb Bonus
Minstrel - Instrument Bonus
Sorcerer - Book Bonus
