A bunch of contenders for next year are already very dark, so hopefully we revert to a happier tone. I think the issue with that is I tend to like the light shows a lot, but the only ones I really LOVE are dark and some are quite edgy. I mean looking at any of the finalists the only one I'd really call light is One Piece, and even that has some dark/edgy moments. Also I think it's super overrated. I mean I'd love for a slice of life like NNB to get a chance, but I'm never gonna be the one to push it there.
