I'm jealous. My dog had to be put down when she was 12.

So sorry to hear. I have a poodle who just turned 8 and I'm always worried about him too.

Dammit man seeing that pic broke my heart. I recently lost a rabbit, he just died one day so I kind of know what you're going through.

I Feel for you dude.

So sorry to hear this too dude. Thankfully he was just taking a nap in that pic I posted, but I repositioned his legs afterwards so he wasn't resting directly on them, here's a pic after we got back home but before I cleaned him up

I'm also gonna consider absorbent pads, yes. I have multiple beds that I rotate through every time he pees on one lol, but of course I don't wanna keep doing that all the time

I'm glad y'all realize that I'm not trying to be selfish in doing this; a part of me actually thought it would be just easier to let him go earlier today (and I feel like shit for considering how relieved I'd also be in the process), but I'm glad I talked it over with everyone in my family and got their input first.

I feel like the vets would have been more keen on the euthanasia if it was a lot more serious than they seen it to be, but they made it clear that was a choice only I'd feel comfortable making at the time right now. I'm just glad he's recovered a little bit since we got him home; it tells me that maybe he's not quite ready yet.

Gonna try to sleep now. Hope things are the same as ever in the morning.
