| red sox 777 07/06/20 5:02:52 PM #321: | I hope this doesn't come off as harsh but I am sort of mystified by your AAL trade. AAL fell below $11/share on March 19. It rose above $11/share on June 1. In the interim, it traded as high as $15 and as low as $9 but spent most of the time under $11. The point is, without needing much luck in timing at all, you had 2 and a half months to buy AAL below $11, in which case you would have a 15%+ profit now. If you had bought it at $9 you'd have more than 40% profit but that would have required some significantly good luck in timing the bottom. AAL then ran from $11 to $20 in literally 5 trading days the first week of June on zero industry-specific news and then you bought in.
