| Topic | Listening to the Final Fantasy XV OST makes me want to actually play the game |
| foolm0r0n 07/06/20 4:27:56 PM #23: | The game is just completely unfinished. It makes no sense to compare it to other games or to play it like one. There's absolutely no way it can be "good" from that lens. So I like to think of it like a museum, a tour through an incomplete game that had an immense amount of effort and creativity poured into it. Because that's what it is. A tasting menu in JRPG form. It's over a thousand devs scrounging up over 10+ years of experiments and set pieces, and sharing it with you. It has a serious "behind the scenes" kind of vibe to it. And it's really awesome. Some of the stuff they manage to achieve in this game is on a whole nother level compared to other JRPGs. I'm not sure if it could be done in a complete game, because they clearly couldn't do it, but seeing it work for real in these bite size chapters is enough. It's just really inspiring. They do completely nail the beginning and ends of the game though, so you leave it with a really good impression no matter what.
