I feel this is unfair since many other teams have similar names and mascots. The woke thing is going too far too.
considering that, if I were the owner I would NOT have a name in protest. Just washington, and a big green letter W as the logo.
make it awkward for everybody today we see the Dallas cowboys playing against the Washington... uh, Washington. The green W would be hard to see against the football field. Make it a whole new gimmick, this is a team without a name and a mascot because they took it away from them.
you know when the football mascot goes to the field all suited up? Have none of that. Ask the janitor to show up with a hand made W sign. Make it real obvious.
sell merchandise and all that, but it just says Washington and it has the green W.
If if you want to be extra poignant use underscores (Washington _____)
