Emevas did 300 push ups in one set by training from his max and doing 1 more push up each day. Figure your max is 50, try to do 51 the next day, once you reach 51, progress to 52 and so on until you reach the desired amount. I think the trick is to pace yourself at the top. You should know before going down for another rep whether you can complete it, if you can't you just wait in a plank position, you're going to need good endurance but I think you already got that.
