TopicRivalry Rumble ~ Board 8 Edition - Pre-Nomination & Discussion Topic

As you may or may not be aware, I'm planning on running my first contest ever.

When we had Rivalry Rumble back in 2011, I instantly got hooked with the concept. As opposed to pretty much everyone on the board, I personally really liked the contest itself, but I think something we can all agree on is that it had some weird criteria and wasted potential.

So...

I've been planning on doing this for years now, and I've finally decided to tackle this bad boy now.

This topic will be a kind of general pre-contest discussion topic. You can ask questions, make suggestions, give me tips and advices, and make people aware of the contest's existence.

My plan regarding the formatting, rules, and general scheme is as follows:

1._I will allow any and all kinds of rivalries, videogame-related or not, serious or not, actual rivalries and things that may not even actually be considered as such but that could be fun to see get in anyway (e.g. Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, or anything with "vs." in it).
2._You can pair up anyone and anything you'd see fit, cool, or funny. Just make sure it's something that can catch fire so that it can have a chance to get in; therefore, think twice before nominating Darth Maul vs. Jane Eyre!
3._You can make up rivalries and rally for specific ones (nomination phase only).
4._You may nominate multiple entities from certain game, show, brand, etc., without any kind of restriction.
5._Religious rivalries and other controversial topics are not recommended, but if you'd wish something to get in that gets supported, I'll make my decision whether to include it or not.
6._The contest can feature multiple characters for certain franchises (i.e. Thor vs. Loki; The Avengers vs. Thanos). No limit regarding franchises as well.
7._For such a broad contest, I may classify the rivalries in various categories to have a certain order, then the most popular ones of each group may battle it out with the rivalries from the other groups for the supreme title later on.
8._If certain rivalries with the same characters or entities get multiple nominations (i.e. The Belmont Clan vs. Dracula / Alucard vs. Dracula), the one with the most votes will be the one that gets in the bracket (if it earns enough support). That being said, rivalries that feature a particular entity but that can also be grouped in different categories may also get in accordingly (i.e. Mario vs. Sonic / Mario vs. Crono).
9._Since there can be a plethora of different nomination options, I'm thinking about something like a 20 to 30 nomination limit.
10._Matches will last 24 hours in a traditional voting format.

I haven't decided when to open up nominations yet, but I'll keep you informed.

I've just opened up my own BracketMaker account, so I'm still learning the basics, hoping to not mess anything up when I get to making the bracket. Feel free to agree or disagree with my ideas, volunteer for something, etc.

That would be all for now.
