Wearing a mask has nothing to do with you and will not protect you from anything. It does offer some protection. You're not going to get a huge benefit from it unless you also use eye protection (tear ducts are a nice, moist, direct line to the nasal passages, after all), and it does more to prevent transmission from an infected person to others than vice versa, but it's still a non-zero benefit. --- This is my signature.
