I think it has more to do with people thinking 3rd parties don't have a chance, if everyone that voted for trump/hillary because they aren't hillary/trump voted 3rd party instead then we could have gotten a 3rd party president, sadly people don't want to vote for 3rd parties because they think they can't win, but it's a self fulfilling prophecy You're not wrong, but you're hilariously deluded if you think simply voting third party will be enough to change that reality. If you want to make third parties into legitimate options, you're going to need to campaign for them hard. It's going to take a lot of money, a lot of effort, and it's going to be a miracle if you break even 5% of the popular vote, let alone anything remotely competitive. Talking online about self-fulfilling prophecies and the importance of disrupting the establishment accomplishes nothing except to let you pretend to yourself that you're doing something. --- This is my signature.
