Its not like Bush was the only world leader who decided to jump into Iraq. You can say the other countries were just following Americas lead but thats a cop out from people who dont want to admit their own countrys fuck ups. Yeah, and, I don't know if it really gives him bonus points or not, but... I really think Bush acted on what he thought was good intel. Did everyone think it was good intel? Did his advisors that fed it to him know it was bad? I have no idea, but I think he acted with what he had the best way he could. And yeah it had sucky results that he's responsible for, but I don't think he just did it for his own reasons like avenging his father or something like the narrative was.
