When my girlfriend had assaulted me while absolutely wasted in my whole incident and the cops were there, I didn't tell them she had attacked me for 45 minutes straight specifically because I didn't want her to ruin her chances in her profession. And I severely disliked her at that point. (Hindsight, I wish I had said that. I don't know how much it would have changed if I did then.)
