Well, I probably waited too long to get a worker and improve some resources, cause I spent a good chunk of time unhappy last night, so I wanted to get my empire under control before I focused on military. Also, barbarians, despite my downplaying them, had been a real nuisance as well.

I think part of the reason I was so frustrated last night, besides the Shoshone, was that I was expecting multiple continents (as the ingame description of Fractal says "often forms long, snaky continents) but instead this appears to be one giant landmass with nary an island even, so I spent all this time searching the coasts for a suitable spot and there's literally no room to do so. It's just not what I'm used to. But I will persevere, part of this project is getting out of my comfort zone, need to get used to land-only play.

I'm also at a crossroads on where to proceed policy-wise. I maxed out tradition, I'm torn between Honor or Piety. Honor to help with my hopefully imminent invasion of the Shoshone, Piety to help press my current religion advantage. I'm a bit timid on a faith build because I never really make faith a focus, I usually get it all from city states and just use it to purchase great people or happiness buildings, I've never really been in a spot where I could press it before.
