We just discovered the likely history of the French-Egyptian War. The Egyptian city of Heliopolis is currently a puppet state under the City-State of Almaty, who are an ally of the French. Given its close proximity to French lands, France likely initiated a land grab war against Egypt and Almaty overwhelmed their city, so Egypt is likely loathe to end the war or else they'll be ending their chances of getting that city back. Honestly, i don't like egypt's chances for lasting much longer, they are last in almost every metric in the demographics.
