The way I think about it is that these things are all highly contingent and it's hard to make blanket statements without big qualifications. Yeah, the generalizability and implications are all hard to nail down. Tbf to the researchers though, they did vary the context of their vignettes quite a bit across the 6 studies, and found pretty much the same thing every time.
