China controls nearly all manufacturing and basically owns our pharmaceutical industry. They could at anytime cut us off from a ton of life saving drugs.

The tariff war has driven a considerable amount of the US's manufacturing needs to surrounding nations and, in general, China's economy largely revolves around producing things for other nations which (while typical of developing nations) makes it more vulnerable that those of developed nations.

Lol.

Are you disputing that the US has the world's strongest military?

I dont blame them. History shows theyre more than capable of defending themselves.

What? Right now they're relying on US military, which has bases throughout Japan. And back when Japan was active militarily, they spent far more time attacking than defending.

Japan was decimated by the US at the end of WWII and cowed into submission. Because Japan was largely removed from armed conflict after that time (when the US became its primary protector) and, because it's been removed for so long, the idea of fully rearming is unpopular. (Granted, people will point to other cultural trends as well, but that's kind of a sub-discussion.)

The US wastes vasts amounts on the military and they use it to buy up whatever shit shows up.

It overspends (or at least spends more than others), but most of that spending isn't waste.

It uses power as a substitute for being a respectable nation,

It is a respectable nation.
