Resident Evil (Playstation)
Harvester (PC)
Phantasmagoria: A Puzzle of Flesh (PC)
Wave Race 64 (Nintendo 64)

This is the most goddamn insane 8-pack ever. Weird mid-90's horror vs weird mid-90's kids' PC games, featuring Wave Race and Nights. Alrighty then.

RE vs Zoombinis is a tough choice! I considered giving my vote to the upset here, but tbh I'm just not that big a fan of the game, I'm not a crazy huge RE fan either but it's too much of a classic for me not to appreciate so I have to give it the nod. I still kinda wanna see Zoombinis win for the laughs anyway, I know a lot of people swear by it.

Harvester is such a good-bad weird FMV horror game. It's kind of stupid, some of the acting is terrible, but it kind of succeeds in being intentionally cheesy and funny as well and it makes for a memorable experience just because of how weird it all is - you have actors both intentionally AND unintentionally acting poorly and it's just kinda fascinating.

"Natural causes?" "You can't live without a spinal cord, son. Nothing unnatural about that." still fucking kills me to this day, such a good line. The sheriff's performance is so good, he's supposed to be unnervingly distant

Putt-Putt and Pep's Dog on a Stick looks like some kind of Q*Bert clone and it's not my nostalgia I'm afraid so I have to pass on that one

I'm not really a huge fan of Nights to be honest! It's a pretty well acclaimed game but it just isn't my jam. Phantasmagoria 2 is no Harvester but I did get enjoyment out of Spoony's playthrough of it back in the day so I'll give it points for that at least. It's weird that I'm voting all the horror games in this 8 pack but shrug

This isn't the Magic School Bus game I remember so again, this is just a problem of "not my nostalgia" - I give credit to people nominating 90's edutainment games for taking them seriously but I'll give the nod to Wave Race 64 here. Not a game I'd play much today but at the time I did enjoy it a bit and I think I still get the music popping into my head on occasion. I'm more of an ocean sports guy than a winter sports guy, what can I say.
