Inviso posted... Part of the problem with that line of thinking is that assholes/jerks/tools on Survivor are far too often NOT portrayed as villains. They're portrayed as lovable anti-heroes at worst, or outright heroes. So negative traits are suddenly being played as good things. Hence, Rick Devens. I agree with this take. You'll see other villains fall into this category, while some rank high.
