Does anyone think that Twitter would bother adding a fact checker to a prominent democrat's tweet

Hopefully. I'd like to see them add a fact checker to any prominent figure who could influence large groups of people.

Do you believe big tech companies should have the power to sway elections especially when they have expressed interest in doing just that?

I don't think they should any more power to sway elections than they already have... social media already has so much market saturation - so many eyeballs already locked in and consuming - and the interactive nature of it makes it more persuasive than television and radio imho. SM inherently has power to sway public opinion just in being a platform for people to broadcast their agendas. While I think it should end with being a mere platform for people, I'm not against there being an independent, non-biased agency attached to the platform to act as a fact checker for all influential voices that have a broad audience.
