It is really strange.
"professional victim" used to be a term primarily used by the right. And I do think it's an accurate label for some.
But Trump is the ultimate professional victim, always so quick to whine incessantly about being treated "unfairly" , and they love it. I have noticed they're using that term far less than they used to, so maybe there is still a modicum of self-awareness remaining.

And apparently behind closed doors, republicans can't fucking stand him, and want him gone. And they had their chance to get rid of him and blew it.

There's no way they can impeach him. GOP will never deviate from their singular plan of growing their wallets. Impeaching a R-labeled president would make their entire, uneducated fan base turn against them.

They could easily have organized enough Republicans pulling a Romney to sway the impeachment vote without compromising their overall strategy. All they need is for their voter base to still believe in the Republican party. Martyring a couple of "traitors" isn't necessarily going to interfere with that.

I actually kind of agree. Grandma can use email to to keep up with the family, and the dumbest people in the world can go back to being insignificant in their dank hovels. At the least leave sites like twitter and facebook to corporations so they have a place to shill their shitty products.

I hate that any online medium used to communicate is now considered "social media".

There should be a distinct word for something like twitter or facebook vs. a messageboard like this or reddit (which is basically the same as a message board).
The latter are fine. the former have been a cancer on humanity.

Republicans literally set a precedent for the future that the Senate only gets to have witnesses speak during an impeachment if the president's party isn't in the majority.

I don't actually believe they dislike Trump privately, but even if they do I don't fucking care at this point. They've bent over so far backwards and fucked our basic rules of governance so far just b/c Trump told them to that they're 100% as complicit for all the shit Trump says and does.

every single trump supporter i know irl is a moron in some way. Almost all of them are my girlfriends family or friends.

They all have the same themes too, they all live together packed like sardines in a little house, have visitors over every single day during the pandemic, smoke cigarettes despite children being present and all having issues ranging from asthma to copd and emphysema, even the animals can't breathe, don't take care of themselves and leave it up to the government to keep them alive. They're all frankly disgusting.

Another trump supporter I work with and she's a junkie who flips out if you say Obama. She literally had a customer complain she was fucked up three days ago. Looooves Trump.

I did work with a lady who regretted supporting trump... but they aren't a supporter anymore.

The theme I see is "I can be a literal turd and its OK because the president is one"

Curious. Why are there people who seems to throw around the concept of freedom of speech with non-government entities? Are they simply misunderstanding when freedom of speech actually applies? Do they feel the "spirit" of freedom of speech should apply to non-government entities? Is it simply ignorance or people interpreting the Bill differently?

For that matter, in this case, Trump is saying that it's an attack on his free speech to point out that what he's said is false. That's not even misinterpreting the government aspect of it, that's misinterpreting the fundamental concept itself.
