Topic	[VGMC] Video Game Music Contest Topic 5 -- Results and Discussion

Pokemon: 6 of 9 Ar/Ciel tonelico/nosurge: 5 of 7 Kirby: 3 of 6 Fire Emblem: 3 of 5 Final Fantasy: 0 of 5 Ouch, Final Fantasy has not had a retiree since VGMC9 (Break the Limit so close, rip) and will likely have to wait another year bar wildcard redemptions! As a bonus, I also looked at rhythm games, which included: Arcaea, beatmania, Deemo, GuitarFreaks, jubeat, Lanota, maimai, Nostalgia, Otocadoll (being generous with that one), pop'n, Reflec Beat, Sound Voltex, and Taiko. Out of a combined 17 songs, 10 were able to survive round 1! Interestingly, Sound Voltex was the biggest representative with 4 songs, but came out with 0 wins from Brain Power, Soflan-chan, Speed star Kanade, and Sudden Visitor...if we exclude it as the black sheep of the group, rhythm games had a whopping 10 of 13 or 76.9% winrate, beating out even Exa Pico! There aren't as many big series in ToC, but I did the same tally based on results up to round 2 only, since round 3 hasn't quite been completed yet. Here, rhythm includes beatmania, Cytus, Deemo, Gitadora, jubeat, pop'n, and Sound Voltex...but not Crypt of the Necrodancer. Atelier: 1 R1 loss, 0 R2 losses, 4 R2 wins Rhythm: 3 R1 losses, 2 R2 losses, 3 R2 wins Umineko: 2 R1 losses, 1 R1 loss, 1 R2 win Though I've mostly been watching Elferia and Dark Legacy tear through their matchups, it looks like Atelier is the series making a big statement in ToC! For reference, Atelier also had 3 of 4 songs make it out of round 1 in main bracket.
