It does a good job of portraying that creepy atmosphere you'd get from an abandoned mansion or dark cave. The drums and shakers are cool. The Chrono Cross song that is named Radical Dreamers is a way better ending theme than Life ~ A Distant Promise! When 3:20 hit I nearly fell off my chair, really nice and ethereal vocal harmonies there that sound magical over the acoustic guitar backing. vgmdb says this has the same subtitle as Ending ~ Le Tresor Interdit but they don't sound like related songs? The sung vocals are a bit old-school anime for me, but I guess it works. YouTube is recommending me a bunch of Nier songs in related videos which makes sense, this song has a lot of the same appeal to me as Emi Evans's work. A Premonition is track 1 and longer than the other jingles! It must play over the opening titles or something. The piano is quite nice in this one, another mysterious-sounding song that reminds me of PMD2. Gale sounds like a classic SNES battle theme! It's got some funky mechanical sounds that remind me of Super Mario RPG. Doesn't sound particularly threatening, and the chunky SNES samples certainly don't help its case. I feel like I need more instrument layers to enjoy a battle theme like this without "real" drums. Well, I was going to finish everything this post but I don't feel like listening to sergio's 18-minute song just yet... Far Promise ~ Dream Shore 1 is another Radical Dreamers song with that distinctive melody! It's a music box piece like Good Night but with a longer, more interesting progression, which I think is enough to lift it up a tier. Very peaceful and nostalgic. Huh? is like...a pathetic recreation of Huh?!, go back to Full Tilt Space Cadet 3D Pinball or something where you belong! Huh?! at least made me feel a sense of impending danger, while this one is just some uninteresting beeps. Still gonna put them in the same tier.
