Depends. If we get a speeding ticket in Vermont it doesn't really matter. But if we get a speeding ticket in New York it's a different thing because Quebec and New York have an agreement to enforce each other's tickets. This means that I could have my Quebec license suspended because of tickets in New York. Not the case for Vermont. I suppose each canadian province has those kinds of deals with different states.

Whoa, that's fucked up. I didn't know that. Thank you. Odd because I see of ton of Quebec drives unabashedly speeding down the 'Northway' They are probably mainly business people who just pay the fine and get on with their lives. But I can't say I've ever seen one pulled over. Still that is an interesting agreement.

Vermont however, that's a whole other story.
Vermont isn't as crazy as New York, or most of America for that matter.
I've actually driven all day in Vermont and not even seen one cop car.

Alternatively, I have had car troubles, twice, in Vermont, and both times I had to turn away help, because someone was already helping.
ie: Going back to their barn to get me some fluid etc. Once coolant, one break fluid.
